Good afternoon. I would like to appeal my server ban once again for “SMAC 0.8.7.3: ConVar host_timescale violation.” This ban was the result of a false positive caused by a bind that I use exclusively in demos to edit fragmovies, using the host_timescale command, which only works with sv_cheats 1 and provides no advantage in public matches.
To prove this, I recorded evidence by reproducing this same false positive on several Zonemod and Zozo.gg servers using a secondary account. In all cases, SMAC and the server console behaved the same way, generating an automatic ban even though I was not using any external programs. The AOC server banned me for 8 hours and IO GAMING permanently, but days later I was able to join normally, so my ban was removed from SourceBans and by an administrator. This means the detection was incorrect.
I respectfully request that you review my case once again, as the sanction originated solely from a system bug.
